We have special terms and conditions for our Winter Courses . They are a bit different from our other English courses.
They apply to all courses organized in January.

  • Winter Courses

    These terms and conditions apply only for the courses organized in January (The EpidM Winter courses).

    Application

    The deadline for application is December 15, 2016.
    Spaces are filled on first come first serve basis.

    Please read the cancellation conditions before you submit the online application form. By submitting the online application form, you confirm that you accept the terms of cancellation.

    Once we have received your online application, we will send notice of acceptance and an invoice with instructions for payment by post.

    Initially, two-thirds of the available seats are reserved for foreign students. After October 15, 2016 any remaining places may be released for Dutch students.
    Spaces are allotted on first-come, first-served basis.

    Payment

    Participants are always responsible for the payment of the course fees, even when employers are paying these.
    The total course fees should be paid before January 5, 2017. If we have not received the total amount by January 5, 2017, you will be required to pay in cash.
    We cannot accept cheques or credit cards.

    Cancellation conditions

    • Only cancellations addressed in writing to EpidM Winter Courses (sent by post or e-mail) will be accepted.
    • If you cancel before December 15, 2016, a service charge of €75 will be billed.
    • No refund will be made for cancellation requests sent or postmarked after December 15, 2016. The full amount for the course will be payable.
    • If you have registered but are unable to attend, a substitute participant is welcome at no extra charge, provided that you inform us in advance. Please ensure that he/she can provide proof of their identity.

    Application

    Cancellation conditions

    1. Registration is final once you have received a written confirmation of your registration for a course.

    2. Before the start of the course you will receive an invoice. For payment of the course fees there are the following rules:
    - Payment of the course fees must be made before the start of the course.
    - The student can enter a billing address different from the home address. If the invoice is not paid within the period prescribed by the authority (or person) named in the billing address, EpidM reserves the right to send the bill to the home address of the student.
    - The student who has registered for the course(s) remains at all times responsible for the payment of course fees.
    - Payment within VUmc: budget responsibility should indicate EpidM permission to write off the course fees directly from a 'kostenplaats' or project number. The student must submit the form "Machtiging rechtstreekse betaling door VUmc" which will be sent after the registration to sign and return. Without this authorization, there is no direct payment by the VUmc. In this case EpidM will send the invoice to the home address of the student.
    - For PhD students working on a EMGO project applies a 25% discount on tuition fee of the courses. The discount is granted if the project has been approved by the Science Committee of the EMGO+ before the start of this course and the discount is applied with the form "promovendi EMGO korting".
    - Entrance to the course can be denied until payment has been made.

    3. Cancellations must be made in writing. The date of the postmark (or sending email) serves as notice date of the cancellation.
    Upon cancellation, the following rules apply:
    - Up to six weeks before a course is cancelled free of charge;
    - Until two weeks before the start date 50% of the course fee will be refunded.
    - Less than two weeks before the start date, there is no right to a refund of the course fee.

    4. If too few participants, the organization is entitled to cancel a course. The course fee will be refunded.

    5. If you have registered but are unable to attend, a substitute participant is welcome at no extra charge, provided that you inform us in advance. Please ensure that he/she can provide proof of their identity.
